Graduation party post! Thanks to all who attended - it was great to see so many people that mean so much to me! There were a great number of memorable moments for which I'm still giggling, so I think the party can be deemed a success :) Here is a picture of the cake and some of the funnier presents received:
And yes, as the title goes, that is my first chemistry kit. It has a little microscope that came with it, which took me over an hour to figure out how to put it together. What I shouldn't share is that the microscope came in 3 pieces - clearly I am not an engineer nor do I have the brain capacity to understand that things slide instead of snap together...Also perfectly fitting is the periodic table of elements mug. I urge all of you to get it if you don't want to remain in suspense for the title of my next post (or if you want to kick Sporcle's butt while drinking your morning coffee).
As for today, I can't even begin to explain how AMAZING it is to have both of my besties home!! Granted Heidi is only home for 24 hours and Rose 48 hours, but seeing them before the Midwest journey made my day, week, month, year!!!
We spent some quality time together in town with a walk around the lake, a lunch at the most delicious deli with sandwiches named after the 46 high peaks in the ADKs, and some tomfoolery with another friend from high school (which included a photo shoot on the beach dock). There are certain summer staples that I've been squeezing in while Heidi and Rose are home because they're not the same without the fun and laughter.
Here are some more pictures from the day including some very classy outtakes:
Fun Fact: Teflon, a polymer of carbon and fluorine, was discovered by accident in a lab that was trying to synthesize refrigerants. It is found in suture needles, Gore-tex, and non-stick frying pans.
How are you blogging everyday?! Amazing!
